Caring is a universal language of love. It is what makes us human. Dublin citizens have come up with this act of kindness, where they hang coats for the homeless people during winter.
In order to protect the homeless people from the dreadful cold, locals hung about 31 coats under a bridge. A local organization called ‘Warm for Winter’ came up with this initiative. They hung the coats under Connolly Bridge, situated in Dublin’s city center.
Along with the coats, a note said, “If you need one, please take one. If you want to help, please hang one up”. This organization became well known all around the world because of a campaign similar to this.
Last year they left coats and hats on Ha’Penny Bridge. But unfortunately, the campaign failed because City Council removed the coats. They hope that this year’s campaign won’t face the same fate.
If the weather is clear this winter, the Warm for Winter organization will leave the warm clothing on Ha’Penny Bridge. But if there is rain and wind, the coats with be left under Connolly Bridge for protection.
Isn’t this initiative just fantastic? These citizens act as role models for all of us. As fellow human beings, we need to follow their path; then the world will become a better place to live.
On that note, kind citizens act as role models to fix an elderly lady’s house. When the electrician she called in to repair an overhead light fixture, she knew that would significantly affect her budget yet was necessary as she couldn’t live in the dark.
The electrician was shocked when he saw the state of her house. There were no lights or running water, and he felt sympathetic towards this woman. That’s when he decided to help her. He even started a Facebook page where a group of professional tradesmen and volunteers can be called on to help any elderly person in need.
