Animals can be so adorable at times. Well, how about an actual animal with a toy animal? That would look extra adorable. A picture of an earless seal hugging a stuffed toy shaped like a seal has been circling on the internet.
This toy seal looks very cute when wrapped around this seal’s arms. It even looks like a mini-version of the actual seal. This earless seal lives in the Okhotsk Tokkari Center. The center located in the Hokkaido Prefecture in Japan.
Ever since the Okhotsk Tokkari Center staff gifted him this stuffed companion, he has been super happy. He loves it and is enjoying hugging the comfy toy. You can actually see him smiling in the pictures while hugging his newly found friend.
The staff members didn’t expect him and the stuffed seal toy to become inseparable best buddies. He even gives his friend piggyback rides.
This center is the only marine conservation facility belonging to Japan. They also specialize in taking care of earless seals. Apparently, Tokkari is the Ainu word for earless seal.
Okhotsk Tokkari Center decided to share and publish the photos of him hugging his mini-version on Twitter. Everyone loved it, and the tweet was shared over 26,000 times.
Although it is a highly unlikely friendship, they seem to be hitting it off. He hugs his toy, just like when a human hugs another human.
The earless seals are the phocid, named earless because they lack ear flaps. However, this doesn’t mean that they are deaf.
The earless seals are among the three main groups of mammals within the seal lineage, Pinnipedia. All authentic seals are members of the family Phocidae. Also called crawling seals to distinguish them from the fur seals and sea lions of the family Otariidae.
Over the years, you must have come across many strange and unique friendships between humans and animals, yet it is not often that you come across a man and a fish.
Here we have a scuba diver; through his dives, he became friends with a fish he named Yoriko. One day she was ill and couldn’t catch her own food. It was probably at this point that they developed trust and a friendship.
